Pre-Ride Check List
Prior to a group ride, a quick check-list meeting will be held. Here are the basic points covered. If for some reason there isn't a Pre-Ride meeting, ask the Road Captain for any of the info below.
1. Identify the ride leader or leaders.
2. Announce the ride destination and ride ending point.
3. Speed will be no more than 5 mph over the posted limit.
4. Riders equipped with CB radios can tune to Channel 35.
5. Announce the ride route mentioning known hazards and where stops for rest and fuel will take place.
6. Identify the road captains and sweep rider(s).
7. Safety is each rider's responsibility. (For example, if it isn't safe to pass or go through an intersection, DON'T.)
8. Identify any medical issues to the road captain that may be pertinent in case of accident or other situation. (Example, allergy to bee stings.)
9. Review staggered formation riding. (Leader on left with riders staggered and two seconds behind rider immediately in front.)
10. Review hand signals. (See "Hand Signals" section.)
